I only knew Dave for about a year, but he made a big impression on me in that time. He was so lovely, supportive and kind-hearted and I always looked forward to working with him. I remember him being absolutely in his element when he took me up to the Cathedral's roof and showed me around up there in July last year. He could barely stop smiling as he looked around at the view and was kind enough to hold my hand when my legs decided to get a bit wobbly! On days that Dave was in, I knew there would be two or three radio calls throughout my shift asking me if I'd like a cup of tea or telling me that he'd made me one. When I settled down with my cuppa, I'd always be offered a jaffa cake or a biscuit. He'd always twist my arm to have two biscuits, not just one - a tradition I'm keeping up! It was often during these tea breaks that he'd recount what he'd been up to on his days off and would show us pictures and videos on his phone. Sometimes it was for a special occasion, like when he went up the BT Tower. Other times, it was another adventure at Leeds Castle and he would delight in showing us what the ducks had been up to as well as pictures of the girls having fun. Dave, I'm so upset that this didn't end up as another tale like your near electrocutions. You will be very sorely missed. Rest in peace. Sending lots of love to all Dave's family and friends at this time xxx
